Daily Sports Digest: Local Basketball Goes 4-0

Local teams returned to the hardwood yesterday and all four local varsity programs were very successful as the boys and girls teams from Rye and Blind Brook all came out of Wednesday night with wins.

Sport: Boys Basketball

Game: Port Chester vs. Rye

Score: Rye Won 60-48

Highlights: The Garnets lit it up from deep as the team shot 50% from beyond the arc, Mike D’Antoni had a game high 19 points for Rye as Max Twyman added 16 points. Tim Brown led the Rams with 15 points.

Sport: Girls Basketball

Game: Port Chester vs. Rye

Score: Rye Won 49-20

Highlights: Grace Leishman picked up 20 points and teammate Rachel Egan added 15 as Rye cruised to victory. Leandra Harris led Port Chester with nine points.

Sport: Boys Basketball

Game: Blind Brook vs. Valhalla

Score: Blind Brook Won 50-33

Highlights: Blind Brook’s Antoine Saliba picked up 13 points while Jack Jamikowski added 12 and Sam Adler tacked on 10. Terrance Tribble led all scorers with 14 in the loss.

Sport: Girls Basketball

Game: Blind Brook vs. Valhalla

Score: Blind Brook Won 43-20

Highlights: Jaqueline Lavitt picked up 11 points on her way to a double-double and teammate Ali Silfen added 10 points.
