Rye Country Day School senior Carolyn Binder was named a Con Edison Athlete of the Week in late December.
The award recognizes students in Westchester and Putnam schools who excel athletically. Academic achievements, leadership, citizenship, school and community activities are also factors. The winner is selected each week by a panel of athletic directors and coaches who review ballots submitted by each athlete’s director or coach.
Binder has been a member of the RCDS girls’ varsity basketball team since 8th grade. She is the Wildcats’ all-time scoring champ for both girls and boys, and has helped the team win two New York State Independent School Championships.
