View Finder: From Fairs to Fiddlers—A Busy Week at Milton School

Milton School's talented 5th graders put on a production of The Fiddler on the Roof on Wednesday, several days after the school held its annual fair.

On Wednesday, Milton School put on a production of the classic 1964 Broadway musical The Fiddler on the Roof. The production, directed by Milton's musical teacher Shawn Admur, featured the school's entire 5th grade class.

For the March 23 production, the Milton stage was transformed to 1905 Russia.  Jimmy Cronin and Kristina Marchand star as Tevye & Golde, a Jewish couple raising five daughters and trying to make ends meat. The five daughters were played by Kaitlyn Zion ( Tzeitel), Katie Bozek (Hodel), Jane Burdick (Chava), Gillian Leung (Shprintze) and Isabel Castro (Bielke.)

The 5th graders performed such classics as If I Were a Rich Man, Matchmaker and Sunrise, Sunset. The energy and excitement from the cast was felt throughout the whole audience.

The play is just one of a few events the school has held recently. On Saturday, Milton also held a fair. Students and their parents attended the festive occasion, dressing up as pirates and doing arts and crafts.

From fairs to fiddlers, it's all in this week's View Finder photo gallery.

Enjoy.

Let's look at the appropriateness of this post. First, it's clearly an ad because it points to aRead More specific insurance agent at a specific agency to contact. Second, it attempts to hide being an ad behind what may be useful information (or not). Third, the "person" who posted it doesn't use their real name. Instead, they use a pseudonym Divorce Information NOW. That doesn’t seem terribly reassuring to me. This the third advertising post on the “announcements” space since Rye Patch converted to the new site layout. Seems a bit of a mess to me. But hopefully someone will come along and figure out who the real poster is, their link to the advertised agent and agency, and then delete the post. After all, if it’s an ad, it should be labeled as such and the poster should pay for having it run. If that doesn’t happen, Patch won’t be able to pay its employees to keep real content on the site.
