[VIDEO] Rye House Tours Friday Benefits HS Parents Organization

For the 31st year, the Rye High School Parent Organization has hosted its unique event –Rye House Tours.

Actually a tour, luncheon and raffle-the Rye House Tours event is the major source of funds for the philanthropic efforts of parents’ organization. Event so-Chairs Denise Cypher and Julie Friedmann told Patch the group underwrites need-based scholarships, school programs and equipment donations using the money it will generate at the House Tour this Friday. The parents' organization has purchased classroom smartboards, cafeteria and gym equipment as well as its scholarship awards in recent years.

As testimony to Rye High School Garnet pride, none of 5 households involved with the tour this year have children currently enrolled at the high school, but everyone wanted to do their part to support the parents’ organization and participate in this Rye tradition.

The day includes a boutique and luncheon at Manursing island Club in addition to tours of five ‘distinctive’ Rye homes. Tickets are available online until Thursday at noon. Tickets are available from participating realtors , , , and .

The not-for-profit group is also accepting tax-deductible gifts that can be made online by credit card or Paypal.

The event is sponsored by local business and several realtors including:

  • Georgio Home
  • Paul Versames Development
  • William Raveis

Just a short thought to get the word out quickly about anything in your neighborhood.
Share something with your neighbors. Write a new post... What's up? Make an announcement, speak your mind, or sell something

Let's look at the appropriateness of this post. First, it's clearly an ad because it points to aRead More specific insurance agent at a specific agency to contact. Second, it attempts to hide being an ad behind what may be useful information (or not). Third, the "person" who posted it doesn't use their real name. Instead, they use a pseudonym Divorce Information NOW. That doesn’t seem terribly reassuring to me. This the third advertising post on the “announcements” space since Rye Patch converted to the new site layout. Seems a bit of a mess to me. But hopefully someone will come along and figure out who the real poster is, their link to the advertised agent and agency, and then delete the post. After all, if it’s an ad, it should be labeled as such and the poster should pay for having it run. If that doesn’t happen, Patch won’t be able to pay its employees to keep real content on the site.

Don't feel so bad. The Patch doesn't even acknowledge that PC is a waterfront community. We've allRead More been shorted.
