Salute Your Favorite Teacher Today

Today is National Teacher Appreciation Day. Share your favorite teacher memories for us to tweet and stop by a participating Cosi restaurant for an Apple Crunch Salad today!

Today is National Teacher Day! Beginning as a local holiday back in 1944, Arkansas teacher Mattye Whyte Woodridge convinced First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt to support the 1953 creation of National Teacher Day by Congress, according to the National Educational Association. Since 1985, the first Tuesday of the first week of May has been all about showing appreciation to teachers across the country.

Teachers are about more than lesson plans, detention duty, and report cards. They can nurture our interests, spark our intellect and focus our efforts. A good teacher can challenge a student to achieve more than they thought themselves capable; and a great teacher can impact a life long beyond graduation.

Tell us about your favorite teacher and share your best memories of how that special educator affected you.
