Rye Kids Walk to School

Rye elementary students happily supported the Walk to School initiative.

Thanks to the Rye YMCA's Denise Woodin for this submission:

Students at Midland Elementary School in Rye celebrated International Walk to School Month by joining walking school busses during the week of October 1-5.  Walkers were greeted by the school mascot (the Midland Bulldog) and Rye Police Officer Mike Kenny.  They also received incentives, including wristbands that proclaimed “I Walked to School Today!”

All three of Rye’s elementary schools and the Middle School participated in Walk to School Week, which was organized by the Rye YMCA and the Rye Safe Routes to School Committee.

Did your child walk to school too? Add a photo by clicking upload below the photos already posted.
