RHS Graduate Finishes Successful Football Season at Union College

Connor Eck, a RHS 2011 graduate, has completed another successful season with his college football team.

Thanks to the Union College Athletic Department for submitting this information:

Connor Eck, a local product of Rye, NY, recently completed his second season with the Union College football team. During his first year as the starting quarterback, Connor played in all 10 games for the Dutchmen, recording 1,914 passing yards, 591 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns (17 passing, 4 rushing). Eck was the motor of the Union offense this fall and there are high hopes for his next two years with the team. He was named Honorable Mention for the Liberty League All-Star team.

Overall, the Dutchmen finished 6-4 under coach John Audino and won 6 out of their last 7 games to finish in second place in the Liberty League. The season culminated with a thrilling overtime victory against long time rival RPI in the 'Dutchmen Shoes' game. Eck threw the game winning touchdown pass on 4th and 16 to his favorite target, Kyle Reynolds.

Let's look at the appropriateness of this post. First, it's clearly an ad because it points to aRead More specific insurance agent at a specific agency to contact. Second, it attempts to hide being an ad behind what may be useful information (or not). Third, the "person" who posted it doesn't use their real name. Instead, they use a pseudonym Divorce Information NOW. That doesn’t seem terribly reassuring to me. This the third advertising post on the “announcements” space since Rye Patch converted to the new site layout. Seems a bit of a mess to me. But hopefully someone will come along and figure out who the real poster is, their link to the advertised agent and agency, and then delete the post. After all, if it’s an ad, it should be labeled as such and the poster should pay for having it run. If that doesn’t happen, Patch won’t be able to pay its employees to keep real content on the site.

Don't feel so bad. The Patch doesn't even acknowledge that PC is a waterfront community. We've allRead More been shorted.
