Planning Session for Rye City Schools Tonight

Tonight's meeting begins with an informal planning session

has the first of two annual planning meetings tonight at . The meeting will begin at 6 p.m.

The meeting tonight will give new superintendent Dr. Frank Alvarez an opportunity to interact more with the community. Alvarez said he anticipates the meeting will be "an opportunity for the Board to share some perceptions" and provide direction for September's agenda.

The meeting will open with the Board discussing its work plans and preliminary goals for the 2012-13 school year before adjourning to executive session. The Board will also conduct several items of regular business including personnel matters and discussion of tax certiorari payments.

The next planning session is also at Wainwright House starting at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 23 .
