G Day Weekend in Rye, Relay for Life, Bikram Yoga to Support Water 4 Life

Rye: G-Day Weekend

Place: Rye Recreation, High School fields

Description:

The Rye City School District will host it’s first-ever “G Day” weekend on Friday, April 5 and Saturday, April 6. The District is excited to kick off what will hopefully become an annual tradition that brings the Rye community together for a series of back-to-back athletic games and other activities. Come out and support the student athletes as they play on the turf and surrounding fields, and enjoy all that G Day weekend has to offer.

With ten teams involved, the games will kick off on Friday, April 5, starting at 4:15 p.m. when the Boys Varsity Tennis Team takes on Harrison at Rye Rec, and the Junior Varsity Baseball Team plays against Harrison at Disbrow. View the full schedule here. 

Cost: *Attendance fees of $5 for adults, $3 for students will apply for the 7 p.m. Boys Varsity Lacrosse game. All other games will be free.

 

Dobbs Ferry: Relay for Life Overnight Walk 

Place: Mercy College, 555 Broadway in Dobbs Ferry

When: Saturday, April 6 at 6 p.m.

Description:  Walk around the college's track overnight to raise money to fight cancer and celebrate the lives of those who have and haven't survived the disease.

Cost: Free

Harrison: Family First Saturday

Place: Purchase College, Visual Arts Building, Room 1018.

When: April 6

Description: Warm breezes, leaves sprouting, birds migrating...What does spring mean to you? Let this season of change inspire you as you learn about the many ways in which artists represent transformation in their work at Family First Saturday, a free program for families offered every month by the Neuberger Museum of Art. Then, create a mobile that embodies growth -- maybe growth in you! Family First Saturday provides workshops for kids -- tots to ten -- accompanied by an adult. New Rochelle: Veteran-Civilian Dialogue

Place: New Rochelle Public Library, 1 Library Plaza, New Rochelle

When: Friday, April 5, 6 p.m.

Description: The event is titled "Moral Injury: the Effects of War." Participate in a dialogue with veterans and civilians in facilitated conversations around the impact of war upon both groups.

Cost: Free.

 

Larchmont: Community Bikram Yoga Class

Place: Bikram Yoga Larchmont, 2444 Boston Post Rd., Larchmont

When: Saturday, April 6, noon

Description: The whole month of April, Bikram Yoga Larchmont will be donating the community class proceeds to a wonderful charitable organization,Water 4 Life, which one of their students, Candy Verdujo, is passionately involved. Suggested donation is $10.

Bronxville: High School Tag Sale

Place: Bronxville High School, 177 Pondfield Rd, Bronxville

When: Saturday, April 6, 9:00 a.m.

Description: The Habitat for Humanity and Environmental Club is holding a tag sale to support the Habitat for Humanity branch in Westchester and non-profit environmental groups in the nation.
