If you are a SAHM (Stay-at-home mom), you may find yourself plagued by the occasional bout of life angst.  How do you reconcile taking care of your children and your desire or need to work?  For some, it’s a never-ending debate.

Dr. Laurel Schwartz is a clinical psychologist who is familiar with the full gamut of questions and insecurities that this topic brings to the surface, particularly for moms trying to deal with the changing demands of motherhood as their kids mature.  Women are faced with such quandaries as whether there is a “right time” to return to work, how to reenter the workplace after taking time off, how work affects the established family dynamic and how to gain the confidence to take on a new career direction.

Dr. Schwartz is running a six week life skills seminar entitled, What’s Next for Me?  Mothers’ Changing Roles.  Why not take a look at your issues, whatever they may be, with someone who gets it?  You’ll certainly find out that you’re not alone in your confusion – always a good thing – and you may even see your way through to resolution.

Dr. Schwartz is a working mom and has been a featured speaker on helping mothers return to the workplace at colleges, schools and parenting organizations. She has published several articles on mothers transitioning into new roles and was on the Health Advisory Board of “Big Apple Parent Magazine”.  She was also a member of the 92nd Street Y Parenting Center in New York City, where she was often a featured speaker.  Dr. Schwartz is in private practice in Stamford, CT and New York City.  She specializes in life transitions such as marriage, parenthood, divorce, returning to the workplace and aging.

Let's look at the appropriateness of this post. First, it's clearly an ad because it points to aRead More specific insurance agent at a specific agency to contact. Second, it attempts to hide being an ad behind what may be useful information (or not). Third, the "person" who posted it doesn't use their real name. Instead, they use a pseudonym Divorce Information NOW. That doesn’t seem terribly reassuring to me. This the third advertising post on the “announcements” space since Rye Patch converted to the new site layout. Seems a bit of a mess to me. But hopefully someone will come along and figure out who the real poster is, their link to the advertised agent and agency, and then delete the post. After all, if it’s an ad, it should be labeled as such and the poster should pay for having it run. If that doesn’t happen, Patch won’t be able to pay its employees to keep real content on the site.
