Heard in Rye Lecture

"Nutrition for Kids of All Ages and What We Know About Eating Disorders in Teens" will be explored by Keri Glassman, M.S., R.D., C.D.N., at the January 27th Heard in Rye Speaker Series lecture.  The lecture will be held at the Rye Neck High School auditorium starting at 7:30 pm.  Admission is free.

Ms. Glassman will address the "ABC's of Nutrition" including meal planning that incorporates dietary "Most Valuable Players."  She will share smart snacking ideas and kid-friendly week-night recipes.  She will also discuss the early signs and symptoms of eating disorders and how parents can distinguish eating disorders from disordered eating.

Ms. Glassman is the author of The Snack Factor Diet and The O2 Diet (January 2010) and is president of Keri Glassman, A Nutritious Life (www.nutritiouslife.com). She is a contributing editor for Women's Health Magazine, nutrition contributor to the CBS Early Show and a beauty & skin care expert for WebMD.  She holds a Master's of Science degree in clinical nutrition from NYU.

For 10 years, the Heard in Rye speaker series has provided parents with strategies for raising children in today's society.  The series is sponsored by the parents' organizations and PTA's of public and independent schools in Rye, Mamaroneck, Rye Brook and Greenwich, as well as the Rye YMCA and the Rye Youth Council.  More information about future speakers and directions to the Rye Neck High School are available on the Heard in Rye web site: www.heardinrye.org.
