Former Blind Brook Board of Education member and Rye Brook Village trustee Dr. Richard Buzin has cast his hat in the ring for re-election to the school board. Buzin served three previous terms.
In a statement Buzin said:
"I believe my past record speaks for itself; I now want the future to be our concern. Utilizing my past experience and present knowledge, our focus moving forward must be maintaining and improving educational excellence while carefully managing district finances."
Since leaving the Board in 2009, Buzin has served on the school district's Citizen's Budget Advisory Committee. During that time, he forged a relationship with current board member Jeff Diamond, publicly endorsing his campaign last spring.
In February, former board president Steve Kaplan announced he would not seek re-election this May.
