The Blind Brook Teachers Union invites parents to socialize before the school year begins.

The start of the new school year continues to approach and with it all sorts of questions and expectations for the new academic year. Addressing those issues in a fun, low-stress environment is exactly what the Blind Brook Federation of Teachers have in mind with their first-ever Community Meet and Greet next Tuesday in .

"This will be an opportunity to share the enthusiasm of our great faculty with the community," said Blind Brook-Rye Federation union president Robin Willig. We want to learn more about our families outside of the school environment."

The gathering is informal and will give new and returning parents a chance to enjoy light refreshments while getting to know their chidren's teacher and other parents in the district.

Harkness Park is next to the tennis courts at Blind Brook High School and the event is Tuesday, August 28 from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. In case of rain, the event will be postponed to Wednesday in the same location.
