President Sheri Zarkower said Wednesday night's executive session meeting at Superintendent William Stark's office is part of ongoing contract negotiations with the teachers' union and will give board members an opportunity to discuss matters related ot the process with their legal counsel.
Zarkower indicated discussions were progressing without any issues so far.
The meeting will not include a union representative, but the two parties did have a negotiation meeting in December and will also meet twice this month and next.
"The federation is committed to continue to work toward a fair agreement and we’re glad to be at the table having the opportunity to do so," said union representative Robin Willig.
The meeting will not take up a previous teachers' union grievance which the board and district superintendent declined to hear in closed session.
