Rye High School's AP Art History Curriculum

Rye High School's AP Art History with Mrs. Charles has been gaining the students interest.


The Rye City School District's Board of Education meeting had some presentations on their agenda.

 

One of the presenters was Rye High School teacher, Mrs. Sara Charles.

Mrs. Sara Charles, was one of the first presenters. She presented the AP Art History Curriculum Revision.

Charles said, ”I would like to thank Rye High School Principal, Mrs. Taylor and the Parents Organization (PO) for really helping to make AP Art History an elective.

 

AP Art History (APAH) is an elective course for 11th and 12th graders at Rye High School. The APAH class has an AP exam in May, and has a split of 50% males taking the class and a 50% females taking the class.  There are two sections of AP Art History and they have a total of 53 students taking the course.

 

This class includes field trips to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Cloisters, and the MOMA. 

 

Six of the Rye High School students participated as interns at The Frick.
