What everyone needs to know about fall landscaping

Who wouldn't want a winter ready property? Read on to find out some great tips and ideas for a better winter and more beautiful spring!

The leaves and weather have started to turn and it's time for us to also turn our attention towards winter. Before we do, there are plenty of things you can do to set your properties up for next year. Your lawn should be aerated, fed and patch seeded. A winter lawn fertilization should take place in November to aid in food storage and root development over the winter. Irrigation systems and water spigots should also be turned off in preparation for cooler weather.

Some things that you might consider this fall are:

1.) There is still plenty of time to plant spring bulbs. In fact, spring bulbs should be planted in the fall.

2.) Spray evergreen plants with anti-desiccant. This will seal the foliage with a waxy coating that will help prevent plants from drying out over the winter and will also, more importantly, protect these plants from deer as they do not like the taste of this spray.
