VIDEO: Voter Turnout May Reach 10 Percent
Patch stopped by polling sites in Rye and Rye Brook on Election Day.
A steady stream of voters turned out at the BelleFair Community Center this morning. Poll workers said by 9:45 a.m. about 42 of the 739 registered voters had cast their ballots. At midday, they expected a busload of senior voters from the Atria Rye Brook Senior Living Community would arrive.
In Rye City at the Whitby Castle polling site, turnout was at a similar trajectory. In district 1, seventy-two of 862 registered voters had cast their ballots by mid-morning.
