Rye Ethics Board About to Reconvene Over RyeTV Matter

The Rye Ethics Board is set to resume consideration of a letter of complaint submitted by RyeTV employee Andrew Dapolite. Dapolite is present with his counsel former Mayor John Carey; city manager Scott Pickup and RyeTV production coordinator Nicole Levit

The Rye City Ethics Board will convene Thursday afternoon to continue their consideration of a letter of complaint submitted by RyeTV employee Andrew Dapolite. The start of the meeting has been delayed by the late arrival of former Councilman and Judge John Alfano. Former Councilwoman and Chair Elizabeth Matthews and former Mayor Ted Dunn have already arrived.

At its March 30, meeting Chair Elizabeth Matthews said the committee would invite  ‘involved parties’ to its session to answer questions related to Dapolite’s allegations of misconduct.

Dapolite alleges he was directed by RyeTV Production Coordinator to conceal the existence of a January budget workshop video recording. Dapolite further alleged that Levitsky indicated that she communicated with City Manager Scott Pickup about the existence of the recording.

Neither Scott Pickup nor Nicole Levitsky are expected to attend today’s session, according to former Rye Mayor John Carey. Carey is present and acting as Andrew Dapolite’s legal counsel.

Carey also told Patch that he would not be allowed to remain in the executive session while the Ethics Board spoke with his client Dapolite. Carey has submitted several exhibits to the board and just confirmed that he will remain in the outer chamber in case Dapolite wished to consult with him during the proceeding.
