Rye Democrats are Eager to Meet Engel

Rye Democrats are rallying behind US Representative Eliot Engel in anticipation of district shift.

Rye Democrats will be coming to meet Rep. Eliot Engel, whose district will include Rye as of Jan. 1, 2013, at a fundraiser Sunday, April 22 at the home of the chairman of the Rye Democratic Party, Rod Brown, and his wife Marcy.

"We were disappointed that we lost the representation of Congresswoman Nita Lowey by the courts in their decision on redistricting the Congressional lines. We are fortunate though, to gain representation of Congressman Engel. He has worked closely with Rep. Lowey for many years. Now we just need to get to know one another" says Brown.

Also attending will be Assemblyman George Latimer, currently running for the State Senate seat being vacated by retiring Suzi Oppenheimer, and Steve Otis, running for Latimer's Assembly seat.
