Rye City Parking Permits Renewable Online

Submit your Rye commuter permit application online.

Beginning on September 1st, Resident Railroad and Highland/Cedar commuter parking permit holders and those on the waitlist can go to the City website (www.ryeny.gov) to renew for 2013. Highland/Cedar permit holders who are also on the waitlist will be renewed for the waitlist when they renew their permit.  Non-Resident permit holders can begin renewing on October 1st.  The deadline for all renewals is October 31, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.

You cannot access the permit renewal process from this email.  You must go to the City website and look for 2013 Commuter Permit and Waitlist Renewal.  It is recommended that you read the Renewal Instructions prior to beginning the renewal process.  No renewals will be accepted by mail.

The fee for permit renewal is $720.00.  The fee for waitlist renewal is $50.00.  Visa, MasterCard and Discover are the only forms of payment accepted.

Let's look at the appropriateness of this post. First, it's clearly an ad because it points to aRead More specific insurance agent at a specific agency to contact. Second, it attempts to hide being an ad behind what may be useful information (or not). Third, the "person" who posted it doesn't use their real name. Instead, they use a pseudonym Divorce Information NOW. That doesn’t seem terribly reassuring to me. This the third advertising post on the “announcements” space since Rye Patch converted to the new site layout. Seems a bit of a mess to me. But hopefully someone will come along and figure out who the real poster is, their link to the advertised agent and agency, and then delete the post. After all, if it’s an ad, it should be labeled as such and the poster should pay for having it run. If that doesn’t happen, Patch won’t be able to pay its employees to keep real content on the site.
