The Village of Rye Brook Highway Department will begin picking up leaves curbside on October 1st and will continue until December 15th.  A successful leaf collection program requires the cooperation of Village residents and the lawn care professionals.  Branches, sticks, and other lawn debris, including stones, used planting pots, toys, broken lawn furniture, fence posts, and other non-leafy material must be kept out of the piles.  These materials can be drawn into the leaf equipment and can result in serious injury to the employees and require costly repairs to the equipment.  The Village website will be updated regularly with a list of dates when leaves have been picked up and estimated return times.

Residents are strongly encouraged to comply with the following:

·      Leaves must be placed in a tight row, a maximum of 4 feet wide, along the center of the curb line.  Rows shall not extend further than 2 feet into any roadway.

·      Leaf rows must be free of branches, logs, rocks, grass & other yard debris.

·      Please do not place piles of leaves where they will create a hazard in the street or where they would block a storm drain.
