Road Resurfacing in Rye Brook Begins Thursday

Expect road closures and congestion for a while.

Thank you to the Village of Rye Brook for providing this information:

The Village of Rye Brook will begin road resurfacing operations beginning Thursday September 27, 2012 and will continue for approximately (3) three weeks (weather changes will affect the schedule). During this time, road surfaces will be milled, curbs removed and prepared for new surface and curbing. Residents should not place leaves into the roadway; please pile leaves onto the front lawn area within the right of way, placing leaves in the roadway will slow paving operations.

Resurfacing will occur on the following roads in their respective order:

Jacqueline lane from the Cul-de-sac to Rock Ridge Drive
Bobbie Lane from North Ridge Street to Rock Ridge Drive
Rock Ridge Drive from Bobbie to Cul-de-sac
Ridge Boulevard from North Ridge to Village Line
Division Street from Bowman Ave to Westchester Avenue
Roanoke from Westview Avenue to Dixon Street
Wyman Street from South Ridge Street to Dead End
Wyman Street North from Wyman Street to Cul-De-sac

During this time, residents can expect limited road closures, congestion and heavy equipment. Motorists are advised to be aware of elevated sewer drains and storm drains and to use caution when driving over such roads, reduced speeds are strongly advised as these elevated structures may damage tires.

During the installation of new pavement, roads may be open to traffic on one lane only. Motorists should not drive on newly paved surfaces unless signaled. Once paving operations are completed crews will begin to install curbing. Curbing installation will take a couple of weeks since there is a significant amount of curbs to reinstall. Topsoil and seed backfill will be comnpleted after the curbs are installed.

A. Who the heck is "Sam Gentile"? Is "he" qualified to make the kind of postsRead More he's been making? Does he have an undisclosed financial interest in what he's posting? This sure looks like an [unidentified as such] sales promotion for Staples. B. On what basis does "he" assert that Rye Teachers are paying out of their own pockets for school expenses? I'm sure some are, but is it reasonable to base such a broadbrush / dramatic statement based on a nation-wide survey the source of which isn't even specified in the post? Was the survey perhaps assembled by Staples or some other business?
