[POLL] Shopping Bag Ban Starts Today in Rye
Rye shoppers need to bring their reusable bags for the first day of plastic bag ban ordinance.
Don't forget your reusable shoppping bags! Local merchants will no longer package shopper purchases in the ubiquitous disposable plastic bag and instead ask shoppers to use their own reusable shopping totes.
Rye is the first municipality in Westchester Couny to adopt the environmentally conscious measure after a series of discussions last winter. The City Council voted to adopt an modeled on a similar Connecticut law.
