Playland Ice Casino Hosts Second Annual 'Try Hockey for Free Day'

Children ages 4-9 are invited to participate on Nov. 4.

A press release from Westchester County: Boys and girls ages 4 through 9 are invited to the second annual “Try Hockey for Free Day” on Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Playland Ice Casino in Rye. New York Rangers alumnus Dave Maloney will be on hand to help teach the basics of the sport as kids lace up and hit the ice for a free, fun and safe introductory skating or hockey lesson.

The program will be conducted in two, one-hour ice slots at 1:30 p.m. and at 2:45 p.m. All necessary game and safety equipment will be provided. No prior skating experience is required. Every child who attends “Try Hockey for Free Day” will receive a free Rangers hockey stick.

“Try Hockey For Free Day” is part of “Come Play Hockey Month,” a program designed to introduce new young players to the sport throughout the month of November. It is a joint effort among USA Hockey, the National Hockey League, NHL member clubs and OneGoal.
