Carvin Reacts to Decision to Uphold Affordable Healthcare Act

Congressional candidate Joe Carvin's brother Michael Carvin argued against the law in front of the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court has apparently upheld the controversial individual mandate component of the Affordable Healthcare Act, according to multiple reports Thursday morning.

Congressional candidate and Rye Town supervisor Joe Carvin issued a press release with his reaction to the decision:

"Today's Supreme Court decision is deeply disappointing, but it serves to highlight two critical facts: Obamacare represents the largest tax increase in U.S. history, and it must be struck down legislatively by the Congress rather than through the courts.

Obamacare is unaffordable to a nation on a perilous path toward effective bankruptcy.  As a member of Congress, I will work to overturn this fundamentally flawed law."

Carvin's brother Michael Carvin argued against the constitutionality of the law in front of the Supreme Court.

A. Who the heck is "Sam Gentile"? Is "he" qualified to make the kind of postsRead More he's been making? Does he have an undisclosed financial interest in what he's posting? This sure looks like an [unidentified as such] sales promotion for Staples. B. On what basis does "he" assert that Rye Teachers are paying out of their own pockets for school expenses? I'm sure some are, but is it reasonable to base such a broadbrush / dramatic statement based on a nation-wide survey the source of which isn't even specified in the post? Was the survey perhaps assembled by Staples or some other business?
