Astorino Picks 3 Playland Proposals

County Executive Rob Astorino held a press conference in White Plains Thursday morning announcing three Playland proposals for further consideration and thanking Playland Citizens' Committee.

County Executive Rob Astorino is holding a press conference this morning in White Plains to announce that three proposals submitted last March concerning future development at Playland deserve further consideration.

Proposals submitted by Central Amusements International, LLC; Standard Amusements, LLC; and Sustainable Playland will move ahead for further consideration, according to a press release from the County Executive's office.

Detailed story later today.

Last I heard, they were considering closing the park altogether because although those 3 plans were said to deserve more attention, none of them seemed to be a 'silver bullet' and there were a lot of feasibility concerns. What is just asinine about this whole thing is that the county hired a company in 2004 to draw up a master plan on how to fix Playland and the county has implemented almost NONE of those recommendations. They were told years ago how to fix Playland and I even wrote letters years before that with some of the same ideas.

Just posted a story covering Astorino's remarks during the press conference and the proposals the Citizens' Committee suggested were most "responsive."
