3/29 Update:

Rye Police Lieutenant Joseph Verille said the Highland Municipal Parking Lot did not experience any flooding and no cars were damaged or flooded today. He said police are monitoring the situation, as more rainfall is expected throughout the day that could elevate water levels in the brook.

Rye Patch received this email alert from Rye resident Doug Carey just before 11 a.m. today:

It is almost 11 a.m. and the Blind Brook is rising and the next high tide is less than a half an hour away.

Commuters: Highland Municipal Parking Lot

The brook is close to the level of its banks and might overflow in the lower (western) side of the municipal parking lot on Highland Road by the train station. The lot is closed and is being manned by RPD (Rye Police Department) personnel.

Efforts are being made to contact those who own the few cars that remain in that end of the lot.

The brook may overflow in other areas as well please act accordingly to minimize flood damage.
