Unusual Suspects: Food Fight; Man Arrested for Threatening Pitt Professors

Recent weird and unusual crime in the Hudson Valley.

Three hub caps were stolen from a 1995 Nissan parked in New Rochelle. The car owner, a Larchmont resident, parked the car for about four and a half hours.

Mark Lee Krangle, 65, of Croton-on-Hudson, was arrested at Pittsburgh International Airport for allegedly threatening four current and retired University of Pittsburgh professors via e-mail. Police charged him with harassment and making terroristic threats. Krangle claims he may know the person behind 60 bomb threats made against the school since mid-February. He also claims the threats were likely to publicize his book, Revolution or Extinction, which he sent in PDF form to the professors. Krangle was not charged with making the bomb threats. 

A Peekskill landlord looking to collect past-due rents allegedly entered his tenants' apartment ax broke several items before threatening to harm the tenants if they didn't pay the rent.

A Mohegan Lake Man was caught driving his motorcycle on the Putnam County Bike Path and was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, being an unlicensed driver, failure to obey a traffic control device, failure to comply and operating out of class.

A Briarcliff Manor resident reported finding a sick raccoon on her front porch.

A black Mercedes left on the lot for two years has become a health hazard, according to an employee. The employee called police to report that the car had become infested with mice and he was unable to get in touch with the owner, who may no longer live in the United States. Police advised the man that it is a civil, not police issue.

As emergency medical workers were assisting a man suffering from a seizure, another man interfered, opening the doors of the ambulance. The Port Chester man was intoxicated, yelling screaming and cursing at the ambulance crews and police when he was told to leave the area.

A woman suffered an injured left eye when a food fight at in White Plains turned violent. Witnesses said ceramic plates were thrown around the restaurant.
