Police Called on Teens Throwing Snowballs; Fight Near Rye Golf Club

Last Friday’s snow gave local kids something fun to do, but neighbors and motorists were not thrilled with their choice of snow play. Police received three calls about kids throwing “ice” and snowballs at cars last weekend.

Teens were reported for throwing ice balls at passing cars on Milton Road and Rectory Street on March 8 at 10:30 p.m. They were seen running towards Rye and the Rye Arts Center, but they were gone on arrival. The next night, kids were reported for throwing snowballs at passing vehicles near Rye Town Park and Dearborn Avenue around 9:18 p.m. They were gone on arrival.

A caller reported youths throwing snow balls in the area of Evergreen Avenue on March 11 at 1:17 a.m. 

Kids Yelling at Rye High School

A Pine Lane resident reported a loud party of kids yelling at the high school field for an hour on March 9 at 9:38 p.m. Police checked the fields and all appeared normal.

 

Fight Reported Near Rye Golf Club

Police received a report of kids fighting in the rear of a Soundview Avenue home on the golf course on March 9 at 10:46 p.m. The small group dispersed when police arrived.
