Rye Police Blotter: Poop on Porch, Drunk Man Disrupts Traffic

A rundown of police events in the Rye area.

Rye Police have been busy the last two weeks dealing with a variety of incidents, from multiple bicycle thefts at the train station to an unusual form of vandalism. Continue reading below for a rundown of police incidents in the city.

Bicycle Theft

On July 15 a man stated that his bicycle was stolen from the Rye Train Station. The bicycle had been left there for approximately 24 hours.

Bicycle Theft

On July 16 a woman stated that her bicycle had been stolen from the Rye Train Station and that the lock on her bike had been cut.

Vandalism on Park Bench

On July 23 a person reported that someone had destroyed the seat of a bench at Rye Town Park sometime overnight.

Computer Theft

On July 23 a person reported that two laptop computers and an LCD projector were stolen from the New York Life company office in Rye.

Egg and Feces on Home

A woman told police on July 27 that her house on Byrd Street had been egged overnight. She also reported that over the past two weeks an unknown person had been leaving fecal matter on her porch.

Disorderly Conduct

A highly intoxicated man was caught disrupting traffic on North Street on July 29. The Hispanic male was standing in the middle of the road and appeared to be highly intoxicated. He was attempting to get on the County bus and when asked to exit, he refused. A witness reported that they had seen this man driving a van also while intoxicated, just before the incident occurred. Upon inspection it was revealed that this man's privilege to drive in New York had been revoked.
