Rye PBA Collects Toys for U.S. Marine Corp Reserve

Members of the Rye City police department have collected dozens of items this season.

Members of the Rye Police Benevolant Association have spent weeks collecting toys and donating them to the U.S. Marine Corp Reserve this holiday season.

This is their sixth year running the drive, which is organized by officer Dave Casale, said Vice President of the Rye PBA Mike Kenny.

"Everyone chips in," Kenny said. The officers take turns loading their cars to drop the toys off at a collection point in Elmsford.

They have a large box set up in the front of the police station, where people have been dropping off new toys for the past several weeks. They had about five large boxes filled up by the middle of Decemeber, Casale said.
