Rye Firefighters Support Maria Fareri Children's Hospital 'Go The Distance' Walk

Firefighters have raised more than $65,000 for hospital over past 10 years.

Rye firefighters were on hand this morning to support the  fundraiser at the hospital on the grounds of Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.

Thousands of walkers attended the popular event, which is the largest fundraiser of the year for the 118-bed hospital. Maria Fareri draws patients from throughout Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, Ulster and Orange counties, as well as Fairfield County in Connecticut. Last year they saw as many as 4,000 walkers.

Rye firefighters have been of the children's hospital and over the past 10 years have helped raise more than $65,000.
