Rye Brook Police Get Bigger, Better, Safer Wheels

The Rye Brook Police Department has announced two new SUVs that have joined its fleet.

The Rye Brook Police Department put two new Ford Police Interceptor SUVs into service on Oct. 10, according to a message from Rye Brook Police Chief Gregory J. Austin. The new patrol SUVs have police markings and are traditional police "black and white." The new vehicles are larger than the Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, have a higher safety rating, side impact airbags, cleaner emissions, and are more fuel efficient and a 75 MPH crash rating.

The emergency lights are all LED which will enhance the safety of the officers and the public due to the increase visibility created by LED lighting.  And since the new vehicles are 4-wheel drive they will be better in the snow.
