Police Ticket 21 Drivers for Violating City Snow Rules

Between Jan. 19 and 23, 21 people were given tickets for illegally parkin in violation of the city snow ordinance.

Rye city police issued tickets for vehicles parked illegally, in violation of the city snow ordinance, on Jan. 19, 20, 21 and 23. Tickets were issued to vehicles parked on Rosemere Street, Adelaide Street, Roosevelt Avenue, Boston Post Road, Central Avenue, Orchard Avenue, Walnut Street, Dearborn Avenue, Park Lane, Hewlett Avenue, Redfield Street, Wainwright Street, Centre Street, Horton Street and Elmwood Avenue.

Most tickets were issued between 2 and 4 a.m.

Police also issued warnings for plate and seatbelt violations and talking on the cell phone this week.
