Village of Pelham police responded to an emergency call around 2:45 p.m., Friday afternoon from a frightened parent on Eighth Ave. after a small child got their fingers stuck in a paper shredder.
According to Pelham Police Detective Richard Deere, the child was between 2 to 4 years old and their small fingers got caught in a paper shredder in the home. An emergency feature turned the machine off before the child was cut and no injuries were noted.
Det. Deere said the parent used a screwdriver to remove the child's fingers from the shredder carriage. The child did not require medical attention.
