On Jan. 9 at 5:16 a.m. an unknown group dragged at least five discarded Christmas trees from the area of Park and Florence Avenues and placed them in the middle of the roadway, police report. The trees were set on fire and had been burnt out on arrival. Police found a glass gin bottle in the pile along with a beer can in close proximity. The Fire Department distinguished the hot embers and the trees were dragged out of the roadway. DPW salted the wet pavement.
