Two residents were allegedly attacked early on New Year's Day, according to Port Chester Police.

At 7:18 a.m., two men were returning from a local bar when a third man assaulted them, police said—the alleged attacked punched one man in the mouth twice, knocking him to the ground, and struck the other man once, police added.

Police were soon able to track down the alleged attacked based on a description of his car—a grey sedan—and arrested Jose Espinao, a 25-year-old Port Chester resident. Espinao has been charged with assault in the third degree.

Espinao told police that the two men had been following him, according to Port Chester police Lt. James Laderious.

The two victims—both Port Chester residents–are 28-years-old and 26-years-old.
