Updated: Osborn School No Longer on Lockdown After Robbery in Harrison

The robbery occurred Thursday afternoon outside Chase Bank.

The lockdown on the Osborn School, which was issued because of a robbery in nearby Harrison, has been lifted.

The school was on lockdown until 1:15 p.m. after two men robbed a woman outside Chase Bank in Harrison. One of the suspects involved in the robbery was believed to have fled toward the Rye border.

Rye Police said in a Nixle alert this afternoon that the lockdown was just a precaution.

"There is no imminent danger—this is purely a precautionary measure.”

The robbery occurred outside Chase Bank on 275 Halstead Ave. in Harrison. Harrison police said the two men robbed a woman at gunpoint as she was headed to her car on Purdy Street after leaving the bank. The men stole cash and jewelry from the victim.

Harrison Police Chief Anthony Marraccini said he does not know the exact time the robbery took place and currently has no description of the victim.

Police are trying to locate the two suspects. One fled in the direction of the Harrison train station while the other ran down Purdy. 

Police are currently surrounding a green sedan, which belongs to the victim.

“We don’t have any details. We’re looking for anything out of the ordinary. Anything that doesn’t fit, ” Marraccini said.

At about 1:50 p.m. a man who owns a store on Purdy Street approached police claiming his store's security system may have recorded an area near the incident. Police are in the process of obtaining and viewing a copy of the tape.
