Kitten Flung From Third Floor Window Lives

The 5-week-old female, named Precious, was thrown from a Yonkers apartment window during a domestic dispute.

Precious, a 5-month-old kitten, was badly injured but survived a fall from a third floor apartment window she was thrown from Sunday evening during a domestic dispute.

Yonkers Police contacted the SPCA of Westchester’s Humane Law Enforcement (HLE) Division after officers responded to a domestic incident on Waverly Street in Yonkers, where the kitten was found on the concrete sidewalk outside of the apartment building.

The kitten was reportedly tossed out the window by an ex-boyfriend who got into an argument that resulted in a domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend at her apartment. Precious was taken to Westchester Animal Hospital in Mount Vernon where they found that her upper teeth went through the bottom of her mouth from the impact of the fall.

Veterinarians expect that the kitten was able to right herself while falling, therefore preventing life threatening injuries. She is now in good health and home with her owner.

The SPCA’s HLE Division reports that the suspect fled the scene before police arrived, though an arrest warrant for charges of assault and animal abuse have been issued.
