High Wind Warning Effective 1 p.m., Coastal Flood Warning at 2 p.m.

An alert from Rye City police.

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning effective 1:00 PM Wednesday to 4:00 AM Thursday. sustained winds in our area could reach 30 mph with gusts over 50 mph. 

A Coastal Flood Warning has been issued effective 2:00 PM Wednesday to 7:00 AM Thursday. Tides of 2 to 4 feet above normal could be experienced during times of high tide, approximately 4:00 PM and 4:00 AM. Minor to moderate coastal flooding could occur. 

The forecast does not call for flooding rain at this time. 

Please monitor weather forecasts closely and prepare to take action if necessary. While this storm is not expected to approach the levels of Hurricane Sandy, it could still produce severe weather.
