Grateful Crowley Family Donates $1,000 to Rye PD

The council set to vote on accepting a donation following search for teenager.

With a heartfelt note of gratitude, Rye resident Peter J. Crowley extended his thanks to the Rye Police Department for its involvement in the , in late June. 

"The Crowleys feel fortunate to be in a community like Rye- where we are safe, loved and responded to," Crowley expressed in a hand-written note to Rye Police Commissioner William Connors.

The entire county responded to the search effort which also went viral after garnering .  when the 3-day search came to a happy resolution.

The Crowley family has made a donation of $1,000 to the department. On Wednesday, the Council will vote on accepting that gift. Commissioner Connors said that the money would be deposited into a donation fund and likely used to purchase police equipment.

On behalf of his entire family, Peter Crowley profusely thanked the entire department  for their efforts in finding his son. Crowley also singled out Police Officer Michael Kenney calling him "tremendous" for his dedication and assistance.
