UPDATE: Elmsford Man, Greenwich Man Charged WIth DWI At Checkpoint In Rye Brook

State Police, Rye Brook Police team up in special enforcement effort.

State Police and Rye Brook Police conducted Sobriety Checkpoint on Westchester Avenue in the Village of Rye Brook last night, leading to the arrested of an Elmsford and a Greenwich, CT, man on drunken driving charges.

The checkpoint began at 9 p.m. and ran until 3 a.m.

Marcello Praino, 45, of Elmsford, was accused of driving while intoxicated when he was stopped at the checkpoint, State Police said. Praino was arrested and processed at the State Police barracks in Hawthorne without incident and later released pending a Jan. 9, 2012 court hearing.

Rye Brook Police said Michael Digiambattista, 51, of 84 Henry St., Greenwich, CT, was also arrested, charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony. Digiambattista was released on bail after arraignment and is due next in the Rye Town Court on Dec. 21.

A 23 year old man from West Harrison, according to State Police, was also arrested for nnlawful possession of marijuana. He was released pending a Jan. 4 court hearing.
