Duck Hunting Police Calls

Items from the Rye City police blotter.

On Jan. 6 at 7:16 a.m. a homeowner complained of a shotgun and possible duck hunters in the area of Stonycrest Road and Boulder Road. Police report that the gunshots were due to duck hunting.

 On Jan. 9 at 5:59 a.m. a resident of Forest Ave and Pine Island Road reported that he believed duck hunters are hunting on his property. A police officer was dispatched. The complainant stated that he is not against duck hunting but he is against duck hunters cheating with flashlights to shoot more ducks. He is also nervous that he is getting birds shot on his property. The matter was closed with no report.

On Jan. 7 at 2:45 p.m. police received a report of duck hunters setting up too close to property lines on Pine Island.
