Driver Doing Donuts at Playland Charged with DWI

Intoxicated Driver Reported

On Dec. 23 at 2:21 a.m. a caller reported that his brother in law just left a residence on Laurel Street in an intoxicated condition and drove away in a black Nissan Sentra. Policed closed the matter with no report.

Possible Overdose Reported

On Dec. 25 at 6:40 a.m. a caller stated that his daughter may have taken something and possibly overdosed. EMS was dispatched and the call was transferred to Greenwich EMS.

Intoxicated Female at Train Station

On Dec. 27 at 7:41 p.m. an officer was in station plaza when a passerby informed him that a woman had fallen in the parking lot. The officer found a 48year-old woman staggering in the parking lot, who clearly appeared highly intoxicated and was not cooperating, according to the police report. The police monitored the woman until EMS arrived. She was transported to Greenwich Hospital.

Reckless Driver in Playland Parking Lot

On Dec. 29 at 5:09 p.m. police received a report of a reckless driver doing donuts in the Playland Parking Lot. The call was transferred over to Westchester County Police. One was arrested for DWI and reckless driving and trespassing. 

Drunk Brother

On Dec. 30 at 3:31 a.m. a caller reported that his brother was intoxicated and out of control on Wappanocca Avenue. Police reported the matter as condition corrected 20 minutes later.

Let's look at the appropriateness of this post. First, it's clearly an ad because it points to aRead More specific insurance agent at a specific agency to contact. Second, it attempts to hide being an ad behind what may be useful information (or not). Third, the "person" who posted it doesn't use their real name. Instead, they use a pseudonym Divorce Information NOW. That doesn’t seem terribly reassuring to me. This the third advertising post on the “announcements” space since Rye Patch converted to the new site layout. Seems a bit of a mess to me. But hopefully someone will come along and figure out who the real poster is, their link to the advertised agent and agency, and then delete the post. After all, if it’s an ad, it should be labeled as such and the poster should pay for having it run. If that doesn’t happen, Patch won’t be able to pay its employees to keep real content on the site.
