Dog Bites Girl; Animal Remains Found; Injured Deer

  Animal Remains Found in Backyard
A Davis Avenue resident reported finding bones while working in the garden on May 26 at 11:09 a.m. The bones were remains of an animal, police report.

A list of animal related police calls from the Rye City police blotter:  
A Top Sail Lane resident reported a tan dog that she did not recognize in her neighborhood on May 23 at 10:36 a.m.  
Neighbors were in a dispute over one of them walking their dog on Midland Avenue on May 23 at 10:13 a.m.   A
 Dearborn Avenue resident called police regarding a barking dog on her block on May 23 at 12:34 a.m. The dog was gone when police arrived.  

Dog Bites Girl


Police called the Humane Society to handle a dog that reportedly bit a girl on Top Sail Lane Road on May 23 at 7:59 p.m. The dog is described as large and copper colored. The Humane Society captured the dog and took it to their facility for identification and observation.  

Injured Deer

Police were called to check on an injured deer in a Forest Avenue backyard on May 26 at 7:08 a.m. The deer ran off with a broken left rear leg.
