Credit Cards Reported Stolen from Resurrection School

Police have received three reports of credit card thefts from the Resurrection School grounds on Dec. 4 and two reports of thefts from the Rye Y locker room this week.

Rye City police advised residents to check their wallets on Monday, Dec. 3 after Harrison police arrested a suspect who was believed to have stolen credit cards from wallets during school dismissal this Monday night.

The police report stated:

The suspect in these crimes has allegedly entered an unknown number of unlocked vehicles at school dismissal times, both in Rye and in other municipalities. He removed a single credit card from each purse. The suspect made charges on some of the cards, but they have not been recovered.

We have reason to believe that incidents may have occurred on Monday, December 3, 2012, in the vicinity of Resurrection School and the Presbyterian Nursery School during afternoon dismissal. However, we have not received any reports of thefts at this time.

On Tuesday, Dec. 4, Rye police received three reports at 1:11 p.m., 2:58 p.m. and 4:38 p.m. of stolen credit cards from Resurrection School grounds, according to the police blotter. The three incidents were reported separately. Check Patch today for more information on the Harrison arrest.

Police also received two reports of credit cards stolen from lockers from the Rye YMCA on Wednesday, Dec. 5.

Let's look at the appropriateness of this post. First, it's clearly an ad because it points to aRead More specific insurance agent at a specific agency to contact. Second, it attempts to hide being an ad behind what may be useful information (or not). Third, the "person" who posted it doesn't use their real name. Instead, they use a pseudonym Divorce Information NOW. That doesn’t seem terribly reassuring to me. This the third advertising post on the “announcements” space since Rye Patch converted to the new site layout. Seems a bit of a mess to me. But hopefully someone will come along and figure out who the real poster is, their link to the advertised agent and agency, and then delete the post. After all, if it’s an ad, it should be labeled as such and the poster should pay for having it run. If that doesn’t happen, Patch won’t be able to pay its employees to keep real content on the site.

Don't feel so bad. The Patch doesn't even acknowledge that PC is a waterfront community. We've allRead More been shorted.
