Another Wrong-Way Driver

He's the third this month. Dementia and drunkenness are the causes, police say.

An Ossining resident who state police said was driving south in the northbound lanes of the Taconic Parkway in Mount Pleasant early this morning faces a driving-while-intoxicated charge.

It's the third high-profile wrong-way drunk-driving incident this month in the Lower Hudson Valley.

A driver whom police said was drunk caused two crashes as he drove south on the northbound side Route 9A in Cortlandt last week.

On Jan. 8, a wrong-way driver with dementia made it eight-miles on the New York State Thruway without injuring anyone; a state trooper got out of his car on the highway and stopped him.
