Strange animal reports made to the Rye City police over the last week.

 Animal Bones Found in Backyard

A Johnson Place resident found what appeared to be dog or coyote animal bones in a bucket in his backyard, police report. Police responded and the bones were disposed of.

Duck Hunters Reported

On Dec. 2 at 2:31 p.m. police received a report of duck hunters close to land at Brevoort Lane. Police reported that duck hunters were on an island in the middle of the sound and police were unable to get to them. At the officer’s arrival, they were not shooting ducks at the complainant’s address. Police provided the resident information on how to contact the environmental police.

Squirrel in the Living Room

On Dec. 3 at 9:23 a.m. police received a report of a squirrel in the living room at a Thorne Place home. Police responded and the squirrel ran out of the residence through the back door. 

Car Hits Deer

On Nov. 30 at 2:11 a.m. police received a report of a motor vehicle accident with a deer on Stuyvesant Ave. and Milton Rd. No injuries were reported but property damage was reported.
