UNITED WE FALTER?

“The Rye Golf Club scandal focused my attention on our City’s government.  I am eager for the opportunity to apply my professional financial background and experience to help Rye implement smart and necessary internal controls to prevent abuses like this from happening again. Joe’s example of searching for the truth at Rye Golf Club is what inspired me to run for City Council”

Update: City internal controls circumvented but in 18 months no city senior management depositions yet taken. B&R investigation scope compromised, citizens complaining repeatedly given brush off.

“I believe that we need to bring openness, transparency and common sense back to Rye’s government.  Together with the Rye United team, I will bring integrity, leadership and consideration for all citizens to the City Council. I will work to put an end to the vitriol and personal animosity that currently exists so that we can return to a thoughtful and respectful approach to local government and get things done for the good of Rye.”

Update: Insurance claim filed for 10X previous disclosed losses months prior to elections by same law firm who failed to detect multi-year fraud, same firm now re-engaged to fight suit of exploited ex-club employees.

“In light of the Rye Golf Club scandal, the Rye TV debacle and the Rye Police uniform bid controversy, among other issues, folks in Rye have lost faith and trust in the way that our government is run”.

Update: Grapevine – Rye Police Uniform suspect Jack Holmes to walk. Developing.

“Kirstin, Terry, Julie and I will work together and with others to promote fundamental ideals, including openness, transparency, integrity and accountability, to restore confidence in our City government and to get Rye back on track.

Update: FOIL for city insurance claim on Rye Golf Club fraud stonewalled for months. Then claim for millions is suddenly disclosed. District Attorney meanwhile has made multiple offers to prime suspect not to go to trial - and disclose what he knows.

My 2 cents: I wish Rye United, and our City, the very best. A rocky start can still lead to a solid finish.
