For the Record

Retirement is a liberating experience that too many put off for too long.  Independence from a calendar is among those benefits retirement brings.
My wife has yet to retire, she soon will, and she has nearby family with the associated obligations.  Family obligations and work make my wife a slave to the calendar.

Upon turning to the February page of The Rye Record's 2014 calendar, my wife exclaimed, "what the hell!" which caught me by surprise.  She found that the good folks at the Rye Record have given everyone a free weekend.

February 2014 is apparently a "jump year" as opposed to a leap year which gives us just one extra day.
Conventional calendars may begin February on Saturday but Rye, being anything but conventional, begins February on Monday.

Party hard, this week end does not exist.
